VICTORIA OCUNSCHI

I am Victoria and more then 20 years ago the doctors diagnosed me with a rare eye disease, curable through operation, but impossible in Romania at that time. They told me that without surgery I would not be able to see even the light by the age of 30.

I was an orphan teenager and I couldn't afford this surgery. My biggest dream was to become a medical doctor. Nobody's Children learned of my plight, and Nobody’s Children brought me to their home in the US and arranged surgical operation.

The surgery was a big success, and I was able to keep my vision and my dream to become a doctor came true because of them. They are my heroes. From them I learned that love and compassion are human necessities. They didn't even know me and made such a wonderful thing for me: they saved my eyesight.

Because of you I will always see the world through my blue eyes.
